Guitar Masters Series: Ed Cherry

February 5 @ 7:00 pm - 8:15 pm

$25.00
Ed Cherry

An expressive instrumentalist, Cherry has a hip, melodic approach that is a refreshing contrast to guitarists who frequently resort to playing ‘finger music’, the execution of rapid streams of notes that serve no musical purpose other than to fill space —JazzTimes

Don’t miss the chance to see acclaimed jazz guitarist Ed Cherry and his formidable trio perform at Zinc on Monday, February 5.

Guitarist Ed Cherry has been playing professionally since the early ’70s, as a sideman to musicians such as Tim Hardin, Jimmy McGriff, Henry Threadgill, and Jimmy Smith. Most famously, he spent over fifteen years in Dizzy Gillespie’s band, remaining with the group until the trumpeter’s death in 1993.

Showtimes are at 7:00 pm & 8:30 pm. Tickets are available in advance for $25 or can be purchased on the day of the show for $30. For more information, please visit http://zincjazzcom.

In the event of a cancellation, you will be issued a full refund. If the event takes place as scheduled, ticket purchases are non-refundable. Please plan to arrive on time for your reservation. If you are running late, please let us know in advance. We can hold your reservation for 15 minutes after the scheduled time, but after that, we will need to cancel the booking. Thank you for your cooperation.
